Training camp in Georgia has been nothing like what I ever expected. at first I was nervous about how our team would bond. But from the very first time that we met until now, we have become so extremely close. I know that God chose each one of us for a certain purpose and all of us bring something that adds to the team. We are going to do such great things in Honduras. At training camp, we have worked on several things. Somethings that really stood out to me is working on how to listen to God more openly. That is something that I have struggled with for some time, but after really working and praying about it, I have really grown in this area. Something else that we have worked on is communicating feedbck to our team members. I feel that this will be really beneficial because without feedback, our teammates will have a harder time growing. Finally, the activity that we did that helped me the most was the one with the logs. Everyone took a log and wrote something on it that we have been struggling with. We then carried and hiked with our log for quite a while. The log became very tiresome and heavy. We did this to symbolize how we carry these things with us everywhere we go. Eventually at the end, we had our leaders pray with us and we then got to throw our logs into the fire pit. I know that this really helped me let go of a few things that I have been struggling with. I still can't believe that I'll be in Honduras in less than 24 hours. There is still some anxiety that I am feeling, but I know that once we are there and doing our work, I will do just fine. I can hardly wait to leave and start changing lives.
