A Letter Home…

Dearest parents, siblings, roommates, pastors, friends, classmates, supporters, and others back home: What a privilege and honor it has been to serve here at Heart of Christ this summer! We’ve seen, smelled, heard, and ate things beyond our wildest imaginations- and suddenly, two months are up and soon we’ll be headed home! 20 Things About Living in Honduras for 2 Months

1- Produce is so cheap. The other day I bought 2 bananas, 2 mangos, and a HUGE carrot for 87 cents. 2- We take bucket showers. We use rain water that flows into buckets spaced throughout the compound. If it doesn’t rain, we have to order water that comes on trucks. We take showers once or twice a week. 3- The currency is called lempiras instead of dollars. 4- Peanut butter isn’t a thing. 5- We go to a pulperia at least once a day, sometimes twice! A Cornflake Craving

  Every. Single. Morning. We have eaten a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast for the past 45 mornings without fail. Not once have I eaten something else or skipped out on having them. My day just wouldn’t be the same without them. I didn’t think they were anything special at first, but as the weeks went on I discovered a love for them. A love that turned into a craving. Let’s talk about Depression
