Do You Speak Churches?
I arrived safely with my team in Honduras after a long morning in the airport, having left trainig camp at 1:30 in the morning on Monday. Tony Dien, our host, was waiting for us at the airport with half the kids from Zion’s Gate Ministry, holding up signs with the names of all of our teammates. It was truly heartwarming.
As much as I had prepared for my trip, I did not practice my Spanish Luke my mother told me to. My tenses are awful, but my most classic blunder was the question “Tu habla inglesias?” I meant to ask if they speak English but I was actually asking “Do you speak churches?”
All the children love to laugh at me and help me with my Spanish. The ranch that we are staying at, Zions Gate Ministries is beautiful, with lots of space for the children to play. I cannot wait to further my relationships with these kids; they are already so affectionate and love to be with us.
I am blessed with awesome teammates with hearts for God. Everything about this trip already has shown me bits and pieces of Fathers plan for us, and as much as I am savoring the moments we have now, I look to the day when I can flip the pages back and view what God has done!
Thank you for your prayers and support, I will be blogging every week to keep you updated!
