If you would’ve asked me…

If you would’ve asked me two years ago if I would like to be a missionary to Central America, I would’ve said “No, I’d much rather prefer Southeast Asia; I just don’t have a heart for Central American countries.”

If you would’ve asked me two months ago what I was doing in the coming season, I would’ve told you I’d be working in order to pay off the remainder of my student loans and save up “for the next big thing”.

If you would’ve asked me two weeks ago what I was doing with my summer, I would’ve said nannying part time, writing music, loving on my family, and going to some youth group events.

Well…Joke’s on me! Within 60 hours of being contacted and committing to lead a Passport Team to Honduras this summer, I arrived in Gainesville to begin leader training. I met some of the most passionate, funny, kind Kingdom-bringers I have yet to know. The reality check hit when nine women showed up a few days leader, ready for a Kingdom Journey of their own, counting on me to lead them not only to another nation, but deeper into the Father’s Heart.

If you would’ve asked me two days ago how this all came together,  I would’ve told you I’m not sure I fully understand yet, but I could not have asked for anything better.

If you would’ve asked me two hours ago how it felt to be here, I would’ve told you that sitting in a Spanish church service covered in hugs from abandoned babies, disabled adolescents, and abused women is exactly where I need to be right now.

This is a fulfillment of prayers whispered quietly in the depths of my heart, groans that were suppressed, depressed, or falsely expressed.

And yet I am surprised. Why is that? Have I not testimony after testimony of His goodness towards me?

My heart comes alive in being able to disciple nine young women who I see the Lord working in and through in beautifully powerful ways.

My mind comes alive in serving them by taking care of logistics and finances, along with teaching foundations of bible study and prayer.

My soul comes alive in that my Father is faithful to His children in every capacity.

My body…well, you know, it’s the mission field. 😉

I am so honored to be leading this group of Kingdom women and serving at Heart of Christ with Gracie and Papi Lee (they are a whole other story!)  and expectant of all the Lord is going to do in and through our team this summer!

I still don’t know what this season after this looks like, and that’s okay.

I still don’t know where the rest of my financial support for this summer will come from, and that’s okay. (Although I will throw out a shameless plug for those led to donate, please be obedient to that tug)

But I do know I have a good, good Father and He loves to surprise His daughter.

Here we go, Abba.
