Hi all 🙂 Thanks for reading!
1) More than…..a camp
Training 'camp' hardly describes these past four days in Toccoa Falls, Georgia. We arrived on the evening of June 1, and despite the best encouragement, I was still extremely nervous coming into this. Images of a stereotypical summer camp ran through my mind and these made-up ideas were frightening. It was a pleasant surprise, however, when this 'camp' ended up being a n enriching time of preparation for the two months ahead. Some activities that AIM has put on for us include journaling + cataloguing ‘3-minute testimonies,’ prayer over one another, a ‘Surrender’ walk through the beautiful campus, having conversations about expectations…..
1 Corinthians 1:4-9: I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God, which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you are enriched in everything by Him in all utterance, in all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly watiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will always confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
2) More than…..teambuilding
It’s an understatement to say that our team has been such a blessing—we’re even J3 guys, 3 girls (including myself) and 1 girl leader and 1 guy leader. Beginning at the Atlanta airport, meeting one another for the first time felt more like a reunion of good friends than a cordial first encounter. As a team-bonding activity, we constructed an outdoor shelter in a big grassy field to sleep out under the stars…It’s been a blessing to get to know Ariel, Becca, Charlie, Nathan and Nolan….and Sarah & Neal too! We hiked to the waterfall together and shared many laughs and stories over meals and down times 🙂
3) (We are) More than…..conquerors
For me personally, this has been a theme for me and such a good reminder:
Romans 8:37-39: Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God Bless!!
