Redemption of a son of God

This is my Honduran brother. His name is Rony. He's nineteen years old and is the oldest of the children living at Zion's Gate with Tony. He found Jesus Christ about two months ago. He was living in rebellion, addicted to drugs and getting into fights on the streets, but Jesus was calling him. He had known of Jesus Christ, and at one point felt the Lord calling him to leave behind his lifestyle. He was hearing Jesus' voice, calling him to repent and to turn to Christ. He felt the Lord in his heart, prompting him to pray to come near to Christ. Rony found Jesus, or, was found by Jesus.

With the help of a pastor, he accepted Christ and became a new creation. He now lives on the property with Tony, seeking relationships with others and the Lord Jesus. He sometimes goes door to door, asking to pray for friends and neighbors. He feels that God is calling him to go back to the 'maras,' the gangs in Honduras to witness of his redemption found in Jesus. I love him much in the five days that I have known him, and I am so encouraged by his life.

Jesus redeems. He makes all things new, and those who are in Christ are a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). When we give our hearts to Jesus, He starts to shape in us something new, a new identity. Rony talks a lot about how we are sons and daughters of God. "Somos los hijos de Dios." What's awesome is that Jesus isn't finished with us, because we're being transformed from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18). He's not finished with Rony, He's not finished with me, and He's not finished with you.

Jesus, thank you for being our Redeemer.
