Live simply.
I know this is easy for me to say. I ‘m taking showers here at the will of the rain and our breakfast menu has a will forever consist of…cornflakes. Bear with me. There’s more to living simply than that.
Back home it’s easy to be so attached to comforts or people or feelings. So attached that you’re blinded by your dependency on these finite things that don’t fill us up. And the more we aren’t satisfied by these things that don’t fill us up, the more we run to more things.
And I didn’t really grasp the reality of this until it became a reality for me here in Honduras. But I’m living proof that you can be detached from these things AND BE OKAY!
My team is living two months with fewer possessions and less crammed schedules. But that’s not where I see the fruit of living simply. We’reliving simply by putting our hope in eternal things.
