The God of Language

We’ve been here a little over a week and internet is hard to come by. Life’s been busy but good. Starting this week, Nolan and I have begun every morning by having Carlos and Fernando read to us for their school homework. I have loved loved loved getting to know the boys that live here with Tony. It’s so crazy to think that just a year ago, some of them were in very dark places, and now they’re helping me do my laundry…but really. These boys are living proof that Jesus can change and transform any life.
As far as Spanish goes, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Being able to speak Spanish this much is like a breath of fresh air. I’ve come so far in a week but I have so far to go. I’m absolutely in love with the church services here. I love just watching the people worship God, they dance, they yell, they simply praise Jesus. Their passion is inspiring. God truly is the God of language and reveals himself to me through it.
Life as Zion’s Gate is simply good. We have ministry outside of it as well but a big part of our focus in Honduras is building relationships with the boys here. I’m so very excited to continue getting to know them. I love my team and we get closer every day – although it already feels like I’ve known them forever. Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to talk more about the relationships here I’ve been making. God’s doing crazy awesome things in Honduras: I can’t wait to share with y’all pictures and stories. Dios es bueno.
