A Letter Home…

Dearest parents, siblings, roommates, pastors, friends, classmates, supporters, and others back home: What a privilege and honor it has been to serve here at Heart of Christ this summer! We’ve seen, smelled, heard, and ate things beyond our wildest imaginations- and suddenly, two months are up and soon we’ll be headed home! A Typical Day- Picture Blog

Wake up call. Aka: kids yelling outside our windows 🙂   Cornflakes, breakfast of champions.   We love washing dishes:) Painting the new school! Snack time! Classes;) Lunch with my beautiful team. Let’s talk about Depression

I believe you’ve been led to this blog post for a reason, so before we go any further, I must first say this: THERE IS HOPE. I remember it hitting me like a ton of bricks. Joy in the Face of Death

On July 6th, our host, Gracie, called me in after devotions and told me she had a word for me. She told me that during devotions she just kept seeing a black, dark spot in my near future. She didn’t know anymore about it besides that it would be the hardest thing that I have had to face. She told me I needed to prepare and if I didn’t I would have a really rough time making it through. Choosing Joy & Cultivating Gratefulness

This past week, The Lord has really been teaching our team a lot about joy through the avenue of cultivating gratefulness. The book “One Thousand Gifts” (one you should check out if you’ve yet to read it) has been making its way across the team, along with some participant-led team times relating to this subject. It has really convicted my heart once again, since originally reading this book last fall. Yesterday we went out to prayer walk and do village ministry.
